This section provides the current rules, requirements, and procedures for submitting oil and gas reservoir well test data.
Directive 040: Pressure and Deliverability Testing Oil and Gas Wells provides the requirements and recommended practices for pressure- and deliverability-testing for oil and gas wells.
All companies are required to submit current well test data electronically in the appropriate pressure ASCII standard (PAS) format. Hard copy reports will only be accepted for well tests captured prior to January 1, 1999.
Further to Directive 040, the AER electronically captures industry-collected well tests consisting of gas and fluid analyses, AOF, acoustic well-sounder data, static- and transient-gauge pressure data, and drill-stem tests.
SERCO List (updated November 2016) is a list of producing and/or service companies with 5-digit codes required in the specified PAS files identified in that document.
Well Test File Formats
Well test submissions are formatted according to the industry and AER-defined PAS format.
If you have questions about the AER requirements for well test submissions or about compiling and submitting an electronic test to the AER, please send an e-mail message to WellTest-Helpline@aer.ca
